Fixed my not working one. I soldered two 4.7 K pull up resistors on, one on GP4 to 3.3v and one on GP5 to 3.3v. Working now. =)

I was talking to Phil, I have his private Pimoroni e-mail address, about the RGB Keypad. Just that it can be setup like a keybow and they should link to the instructions maybe on the product page or in the learn section. After seeing the i2c issue I ran into he's sending me a replacement circuit board.
He was going to send me the whole Keypad but all I really need is the circuit board. I have an extra keypad with all the mounting hardware.

If it doesn't work, open Thonny and set the interpreter to "CircuitPython (generic), lower right corner. Then press ctrl c, ctrl d, and see if you get an error message.

I didn't know about the ctrl c, ctrl d until just the other day. My code.py was auto running (but failing) when I plugged my PICO into USB. To see what happens you run ctrl c, to stop it, and ctrl d to run it again. Something like that, I'm still not 100% exactly what it does, I just know its handy. That's when I finally saw my i2c pullup error. Clicking stop and run at the top didn't get me the same message?

Hey Jack, to get your RGB Keypad base fully functional your going to have to do the following.
Also download the Adafruit Circuit Python Library for version 6.
CircuitPython Libraries | Welcome to CircuitPython! | Adafruit Learning System
Extract it and then copy the lib/adafruit_hid folder to the CIRCUITPY lib folder.
I ran the simple hid keypad example and got a no module named adafruit_hid error. The above fixed it.

EDIT: lol, The key assignments are messed up but in a good way IMHO.
Turn it so the layout is like this, PICO on the right side instead of at the top.

    C840
    D951
    EA62
    FB73

And when you press the keys you will get

    0123
    4567
    89AB
    CDEF

All you have to do is turn the top cover 90 degrees so they match up. I was wanting to do this anyway to get the USB cable going out the top instead of to the left.

Yeah, I'm tinkering with it now and then. One step forward, two steps back, one step forward two steps back, it seems like. Actually getting somewhere now though. If I launch the Calculator, pressing the keys on the keypad enters the numbers, that's how I noticed the layout was not correct.
The hid-keys-advanced.py is likely the next to tinker with.
