The Raspberry Pi Thread [6]

I think I'm going to give this a try in the morning. But swap the Feather for a PICO. It's Circuit Python instead of Micro Python, I'm fine with that if it works.

My electronics background helps a lot. Saves me from releasing the magic blue smoke, "most times". I also have pretty decent trouble shooting skills even if I do say so myself. It's just something you learn over years and years of fixing what's broken. Especially when they want it back in service yesterday, lol.
You just have to be methodical and not jump ahead. That's why I spent a good half hour getting all the software installed on my laptop. And that's was before I even thought of running any code on anything. Now I can skip all that and just concentrate on what code I'm running on what device.
I also have a USB DisplayLink display I plug into my laptop. That gets me dual displays, one for the IDE and one for the tutorial I'm following. It helps immensely.

One thing I do is have a text document with the instructions split up into sections. Like for setting up my RV3028 RTC. There are a couple of reboots in the process, which can make you loose your place. I copy the file to the Pi I'm setting it up on. Open the file, and delete the lines of instructions I have done as I go along. I'm clipping and pasting from it anyway. If a reboot is needed I save the edited file. No loosing track of what you did or didn't do.
I have one for my itty bitty beat box, pirate radio, etc. I also like to put what I can as comments at the end of my python files to remind me of extra stuff that might be needed and how to autorun it. Stuff like this

They don't mind being folded at the ends, but they don't like side to side movement. Especially at the end connected to the screen.
