This is my 3 LCD graphing setup.

And this is my Interstate 75 LED matrix outdoor weather display.

This one I built before there was a Tufty.
caperjack now owns it, I traded it to him for some Pi stuff.

Yeah, all my weather setups measure it in real time where they are.
Bosh BME280's and BME680's. Some light sensors in the mix too, to measure the UV index.
I have one battery powered setup I can put in my coat pocket if need be. It has a 320 x240 color LCD, it's built around a Pimoroni Tufty.
    Tufty 2040 - LCD Badge/Display - Tufty Only

I have one set up to measure the outdoor conditions. BME680 in a Stevenson Enclosure.
Weatherproof Cover/Enclosure for Outdoor Sensors (Stevenson Screen)
Nice big 64 x 64 LED Matrix thats easy to read from a distance. A quick look and i know how to dress for my morning walk with my dog Missy.

It would be a long read if you went back to the beginning, lol

Nice not everyone uses their own sensors.. i often hear they use online-data from other weather services.. So nice done

*smiling* yeah six threads the last 8years feels like a tiny bit toooo long read. *LOL*
i know Raspberry Pi's can be used for a lot of things really good things... but i have never looked in to it, as i myself have no real use for them.. so when i was a bit bored yesterday and started to look around on this forum and saw your thread yesterday and i started to think.. what are you guys using them for
So i just had to ask you to satisfy my curiosity.

My background is in electronics. I'm a retired electronic technologist / technician. It makes it a lot easier to get stuff done that requires soldering, wiring, etc. Even then, I do my fair share of . I still enjoy it though.

It's 1200+ posts if you were going to go read them all.

My background is also electronics. I'm an electrical engineer and still working, but I like to do fun things when I am not working.

Silly me though. Designing and building with Pi's actually looks and feels like work to the casual observer. You'd think I would get enough of this during the day, but I sort of groove on doing hard things. It keeps me out of the pub, at least.

wow *LOL* I'm wayyyy to lazy to even read ten pages back. so 1200+ is pure science fiction.

I have lost all my interest in computers and electronics... Never make a fun hobby in to work, that is my advice to people nowadays.
I do still get an itch once or twice a year to do a fun project.. Mostly is retro hardware this days.. or i make something stupid and half useless just because i can. *lol*

What I used to spend on a new (Windows) PC build, I now spend on Raspberry Pi related stuff. My interests shifted focus over the years. My main daily user PC is a Windows PC, and my laptop runs Windows. All my Pi SBC's run a custom version of Linux. And the Micro controllers Micro Python. What I did at work doesn't bear much if any resemblance to what I do at home.

Woot, Pimoroni order just arrived. Some new stuff to play with over the weekend. Mostly minor bits & bytes but I did get one of those nice 1.12" 128 x128 OLED's to play with. This will likely end up permanently attached to my Pimoroni Inventor 2040. And some servo's for something I want to try. The rest is QWICC cables and Breakout Garden stuff. Stuff I can never have to many of.

    aha-okay, that do explain some
I feel like i have done it all.. It's only data centers and big server-halls i haven't played with yet, and that feels like kind of a tiny-bit expensive for home lab playing around with. *lol*
I do have Retro computers from the 80's and up as a half fun thing though.

I totally get that one, as you get a lot of Raspberry Pi's for one new PC.
That makes it easier if work and hobby isn't the same thing.. at least i feel like that.

I wont mess with your thread anymore, i was mostly curious of what you guys did with your Pi's
Take care and good luck with all your projects

Woohoo! I got the Pi to communicate with the PC! The PC is sending messages to it.

Now I just have to train the Pi to interpret them and take the appropriate actions. That's going to be the hard part.

But a spiffy system display is on its way!
