I shall do that very thing. Thanks. I will post how it works.

I had setup a Pi Info display on my Pi 400 using two of those 1.54" SPI LCD's. Went all fancy and used astral to get me a color background that changed as the day went on, based on the location of the Sun. It's used on the Pi Enviro. Anyway, it started crashing with a cannot calculate sunset time error. I decided to strip it out and just go with a stock single color background. I thought it was going to be easy peasy. Well, guess what, it was a PITA,
Ended up redoing it with new code from scratch. After hours and hours its finally back up and running. It shows CPU temp, clock frequency, and usage, plus date and time.
i have something like [or just like]this, the first pi lcd i bought ,wayback when , it can scroll text ,haven't used in years ,yours if you want it, it works with a small breadboard https://www.digikey.ca/en/products/d...FL-YBW/1701195
and one of these from adafruit ,i dont think its for the Pi,though

I have one of those too, 16 x 2 LCD. Mine is I think, in with my Arduino stuff. Will also work with a Micro Bit, Pi or Pico. Mine has the addon board so it can use i2c.
Sorry it's been a while since I posted. RL has kept me busy.
This camera server thing is an absolute exercise in frustration. I am convinced that the instructions for the whole project are a mess.
I was instructed to use Buster as my RasPi OS to make this work, but I wasn't able to update it or install necessary drivers because of proxy errors, so I have since switched to Bullseye and a new build of the Motion software. I am hoping that there was some kind of incompatibility there that the new OS and software will fix. Fingers crossed.
I am trying it out tonight, and I will post my results tomorrow. Wish me luck.
Grrrrr.
I've had more than my fair share of but you feel really when you get it working. "Sometimes" real life is nice break and diversion. And lets you start over with new energy. Other times its a PITA when your actually getting somewhere and don't want to stop or lose momentum.
I'm picking away at a project I've been working on for years. An outdoor weather station.
I'm using this to do the measuring.
Wind and Rain Sensors for Weather Station (Wind Vane / Anemometer / Rain Gauge)
Along with a BME280 I'll put in this
Weatherproof Cover/Enclosure for Outdoor Sensors (Stevenson Screen)
and some light sensors that will be under glass in a weatherproof enclosure.
It all started out Pi based, then a big redo to go Pico RP2040. I really really want to get it all done by end of summer. Yesterday I mounted the wind and rain sensors to a nice long piece of 3/4 inch copper pipe I had kicking around in the basement. I wanted something longer and a little sturdier than the included pipe. Today I'll make a temporary stand out of some wood left over from building my back deck. Then I can stand it up on my deck and connect it to the Pico and laptop etc that will be in the shade under my gazebo. A nice comfy chair in the fresh air and a cool drink.
The hardware (Pico) part is all wired up, just need to do some coding to read the sensors. I'll be posting pics here and on the Pimoroni forum. I've already got two long threads on this build on their forum, lol.
That looks like a great project cant wait to see it in action
Real life caught up with me this past week or so. A friend had to go into hospital for surgery for cancer. I've been taking care of her dog here at my place. A lot of stuff got put on hold. She's back home now after successful surgery. I should be back to some Pi related stuff any day now.
Just got an e-mail from Pimoroni, order confirmed.
Replacement Processors and controllers × 1 Free
Thats the description they use when they don't want me to know what they sent me. I'm pretty sure I know what they sent me, but I'll have to wait for the box to arrive to confirm what's in it. Should be here in a couple of weeks.
