Mike has "check for Beta updates" off. You must have it checked on. That's why he got the base 1.9.6, and you jumped all the way across the room to 1.9.6.1, the first Beta for 1.9.6.

I ordered a new CPU, but the heat sync didn't fit the motherboard so I have to order one that does fit. I'm afraid to put the old one back on since it might not be powerful enough to cool sufficiently.

So, I just got rather PO'd and ordered a new HP Ryzen 7 10th gen desktop. I'll take the old one to the Senior Center for the instructors to use for our Windows 10 and Genealogy classes.
