My Coursera Class is Done!! (Python)

I finished my Coursera class - Programming for Everybody - Python.
Dr. Severance is a great instructor and I had a lot of fun. I'm just waiting for the final grade and my certificate. I should be receiving one with distinction. I needed to get 233 points to get that type of certificate and I have 289 points!

I highly recommend Coursera for anyone who wants a free class.
Oh, I took this class to brush up and update my programming skills. I really like Python and I'm working on the following:

    1. Java
    2. Groovy
    3. Scala
    4. Python

Their all similar and my next class is in Scala and GUI Python(Tkinter).

Thanks.. I actually made good use of Python recently. I was able to write a program that takes my cell phone usage and it generates a summary report(Phone number and minutes used). In addition I have a report that breaks down the usage by day, phone number and the total minuets for that phone number.

So, that class was worth the effort.

    Congrats Jeff

Heck, I was working on being Groovy back in the 60's :) Never got graded, although I have been told I'm certifiable...

I found that language by accident. But now that I did I really like it. It's similar to Java but it can work like a scripting language and it has the feel of Python.

My Scala class starts on the 15th. That should be fun I hope.

I have ran the final grade computations and turned the course over to Coursera staff to review my grade computations and issue the certificates. This usually takes about a week unless they find a problem with my grade computations. You will be notified by email when they award certificates.

Here are a few numbers: 73868 students registered, 23,810 students did the "hello world" assignment, 6876 students took the final exam, 6683 students received certificates, and 2251 students had 100% or higher with extra credit.
Information from "Programming for Everybody: Python 2.7"
Only 23,810 were able to get this correct: print "Hello, world"
    Just wow.
