We've had ice since Saturday. Not much melting at 33-34°. What does start to melt re-freezes overnight. More tonoght and 2 more storms into the weekend. So, no, not escaped at all.

You conserve water to keep the water system up as using too much to running faucet's to keep them from freezing will deplete the water system. You are more likely to loose power from a downed tree or broken line.

I'd do that only if I knew losing power was inevitable, Charlie. Thing is, if everyone in Arkansas turned up their heat, I'd think there wouldn't be enough to go around.

At any rate, if there is a power failure, I can have Russ come down and turn on my gas fireplace, or I'll go to their house and soak up their fireplace heat.

No freezing rain here, Andre. The snow is light and fluffy; great for making snow ice cream.

It's stopped until sometime tomorrow evening or night. Then another go-round just like this one! We should end up with around a total of a foot of snow when it's over.

Sounds bad TC. Hope you keep your power.

We just have snow in forecast and we are pretty at dealing with that.

We'll have freezing temps until Friday . . . that is, if we're lucky to start thawing by then! Another 5-10" layer of now to be added Wednesday and Thursday.

Oh, and now we're supposed to have a record low temp of -2° tonight!
