Glad you dodged a bullet with the water pipes.

I imagine most of the places built down there aren't built with freezing temps in mind, so I would guess the water pipes are more prone to freezing.

I saw TX was getting it pretty bad, especially some of the single digit temps in some areas. Lot's of power outages down there.

Feb is sure making up for the mild winter. We have cloudy weather & it should get into the 40's today.
Yep the water pipes are a problem here in cold weather as they are not protected My house is a pier and beam house so all the underside is exposed to the weather I did put skirting around it and that has stopped the pipes from freezing but the houses built with the pipes in the attic have have a real problem if they freeze.

    Morning Borg.

We should be okay. Christmas of 2013 we had huge ice storm. Pulled down most of the troubled trees and now they regularly cut back any tree that might cause an issue. Cheaper than repairing lines. Spring, summer and fall you come across crews on the roads with their chain saws.

Property owners are up in arms but they were told not to plant in the right of ways.

    Morning Edwin

Morning Charlie. Hope you don't loose power. Yes all those electric heaters must be quite a draw.

Wife's aunt lives in Indiana. Lost their furnace yesterday. Heating company installed electric space heaters as a stop gap.

Most of the urbanized areas here are natural gas, then propane, then electric.

Well I hope you don't have any problems with the attic, hopefully this all blows through & gets over with soon. But good call on wrapping the pipes.

Stay safe & don't plan on going anywhere for a while.

I picked up the groceries yesterday morn, saw there were more then the normal amount of people in the store. I had curbside delivery so didn't have to go in. Everyone was expecting major ice, this morn....nothing, above freezing & supposed to hit the 40's.

    Next system due on Thurs.

Wife was applying for a government benefit. She has been a citizen forever and has filed taxes for forty+ years.

They did not have her marital status, her phone number or her direct deposit info. This info has been supplied every year on taxes and they direct deposit tax refunds.

When you tried to update the info the sub systems are down to the public and you have to call. A one hour wait.

Not sure who does the IT for the government. Obviously they are not very good at it.

This morning Borg I reschedule an eye appointment. I was there last week. I haven't been with so many people in a year. Good procedures but they were all breathing, this is an airborne disease and I just didn't feel safe. Yesterday I went for a Covid test. If I caught it at this eye clinic I'm going to go crazy on them.

    Morning Josey.

    Good day all.

    Cold and snowy.

Got at least eight inches, a lot more where it drifted.

Got everything cleaned up but it is snowing harder now than when we went out.

Looks like everyone avoided power issues. I don't think I've seen Bob today, hope he is okay.
    Morning Ken.
