Power cuts day in and day out, several times a day or night, they blame it on heat !!! Even on days they bombed us in 1999 was not as often.

Global warming has become a convenient excuse for far too much incompetence by governments.

Exactly but in case of my country, forced (by EU) privatization of of power distributors had negative effect. Opposite of government run distribution, private distributors cut corners to cut costs.

Privatisation was bye and large positive thing for the UK. People complain about how bad the railways are since privatisation. They have no idea how bad it was and it has grown 100% in the last 20 years. Telecoms, you had to wait six months to get a phone line installed and then it would be a party line. Electricity we always had power cuts. Haven't had one in years.

Yep, everything is much better, but then nothing has ever been run more efficiently by a government than it could by the private sector.
