Rep is nice but not why any of the folks I know here, including myself, do all they do. Helping people is it's own reward, here or anywhere.

I can't count the number of times people here have helped me with problems, both simple and really weird.

Tis indeed a marvelous place we have here.

Most people here don't do it for the rep and badges but it's always nice to receive.

As mentioned, most here do it for the fun of helping others and learning stuff not for the rep. I myself have never asked or pushed anyone to rep me. While I always appreciate a rep, I'm just as equally appreciative of a simple thank you.
