    Actually, the answer is ambiguous. It depends if you use algebraic precedence or operator precedence.

    Most calculators use algebraic precedence (left to right entry), so 2+2x4 would give 16.

    Operator precedence would give 10.

    Check it on MS calculator.

    In normal mode, it will answer 16. Put it in scientific mode and it will answer 10.

    So original post is not accurate. There is a valid answer depending on assumption of precedence mode.

    I disagree. The answer is ten. Working out the formula mentally you always apply BODMAS so it's 2x4+2. What the calculator operator is typing in is actually (2+2)4.

    95 oct petrol - cheapest around here is Asda (Walmart) per litre £1.20p ish; Because of covid restrictions I fill my tank once every couple of months, and thats a top up. Its still a rip off considering oil/barrel prices. The biggest chunk is govt thievery tax. we elect them then they rob us; who is the stupid ones?
