Well, morrow I'm on a quest to find some strong alcohol. My Wife's V GO's leave adhesive on her skin when you remove them. The only thing that takes that off is the 91% rubbing alcohol. We're almost out of that, can't find any due to the panic buying. So have to try a couple places to see if they have it yet. Anything less of a percentage doesn't work.
I suppose if worse comes to worse I can get some Everclear from the liquor store. Someone said I could try Nail Polish remover, but not crazy about having to use that on my Wife's skin.
We tried that stuff they have that's supposed to remove adhesive fast, I can tell you 1st hand, alcohol works better & is waaay less expensive. They want like $12 for a small bottle & you have to rub for a while for it to work. The alcohol works faster, less rubbing = less irritation on her skin.
They also managed to sell me some expensive prep that was supposed to help, you put it on 5 mins before you apply the medical device & then it comes off easier. Well, if you use that, the device doesn't have the sticking power it had before & comes off if you get a little bit warm.
But yeah, thanks, I'll check to see if they have any high powered alcohol there. I see some stocks are starting to come back in so maybe they have it.
BTW, saw they had masks in the store. They cleared out really fast.
Also on a side note, I'm pretty sure 10 disposable masks were not $8 before all this mess started.
Good day all.
Supposed to be hot and humid here, rain tomorrow.
Agree with you Borg, nail polish remover is not for general skin applications. Use to be made out of acetone and that strips paint off an electrical panel. ( I know, I was trying to remove old labels)
I bought 50 surgical masks for $54 yesterday.
I took somebody to a medical centre yesterday and was trying to avoid entry. That didn't work. Every time I saw a bottle of hand sanitizer I would remove my gloves and use. Didn't sit either.
Morning Ken.
Yeah, I imagine that was a nerve wracking experience having to go to a medical center during a pandemic. I know it was for me being in the hospital 2X.
We have tried all the stuff they suggested & aside from being costly, we found best thing is to wipe the skin with alcohol before you stick it on, then use alcohol again to remove it. All the other stuff was, for us at least, a waste of money. Has to be 91% though, anything less & you have to do a lot of rubbing & that irritates the skin.
But, as Tomcat suggested, I'll call a medical supplies center & see if they have some. Or that failing, Everclear is almost pure grain alcohol (190 Proof) so that might work in a pinch.
Sorry to hear that, heater on for a few days, then the AC for a few days.... Crazy ass weather.
