BTW, my Wife's credit card was compromised a while back, she ordered something on the phone. And then other orders showed up she didn't make.

I told her doing any ordering by phone isn't a good idea, if you need to order something, do it on your lappy. The one with AV's & other safety's in place.

So Sat morn we get a call from the bank. Yep, she did it again Fri night with the new card & it was compromised in a couple hours. Someone tried to order something for $600, fortunately the bank declined it.

So now she has yet another new card coming (she just got that new one 2 weeks ago) & hopefully she won't be ordering things off her phone. Offhand I'm guessing her phone is compromised & needs a hard reset or an AV at the least.

Picked up that dead computer. Called when I got there, waited on street, he placed on porch and I picked up. Perfect social distancing.

Go to walk away and I notice one of the hinges is smashed, bezel separating from screen, wires exposed.

I placed back on porch and asked him to examine. Said he didn't know how that happened. This wasn't a small crack.

Good thing I noticed. Running check disk on it. Lots and lots of errors, some segments unreadable.

Did I get the whole story or just a cover story??

This thing has been dropped, HARD.

Guess he did not tell you he threw it across the room to disconnect power.LOL
