    Amazon Order delivery dates?

Has anyone placed any orders with Amazon in the last couple of weeks especially Prime members?

I'm just curious as to how long the "actual" wait times for orders are since I see they've posted delivery dates between April 23 and early May. There's also this notice...

Extended delivery time: We’re temporarily prioritizing the delivery of some items in order to serve our customers in need and ensure the safety of our associates. As a result, some delivery times are longer than usual.
I guess it depends on essentialness of the item(s).

    Anyway Just curious.

It my be just an excuse to step away from service agreements

My Internet provider, which I won't name, a month or so ago doubled my Internet speed with the usual fanfare

I just noticed that my speed has just dropped back to what it was. Of course with no notice. Mum's the word

Now, it could be an Internet congestion thing, everyone staying at home and all that

Or, could it just be an excuse to rollback upgrades to their service without annoying the customers.
The upgrades "forced" upon them in the name of competition

The customer is always right, they can "vote" by taking their money elsewhere

Amazon has backed away from their "next day" free shipping. Is that really that their warehouses can't handle the volume of orders or

Another excuse to back away from promises

All this to say.... I don't know

My cynicism "devil" whispers in my ear and sometimes She's right

We will know for sure when flu season ends in a month or two and things go back to normal or if there is a "new" normal

I highly doubt that's the issue given the situation the world is in.

Anyway are you an Amazon shopper and have you experienced delays in receiving your orders???

    Thanks.

Haven't bought from Amazon for the last month and ˝....

Busy playing with my new toy (Computer #1)

So I don't really know what Amazon's current delivery status is

But often a business, like Amazon, will use a current "Crisis" to blame unpopular decisions on

I think it depends on where the item is being shipped from and the number of what is considered top priority merchandise that has been ordered. I ordered a slow cooker on the 21st and the delivery date was the 25th. It actually arrived on the 24th.

Your seems to be the exception as the projected dates on most items were April 23 to early May.

Anyway, I just ordered two items last night. One is supposed to be delivered April 4; the other April 17, though the the April 17 date is the "projected" long date so it "could be delivered sooner". Won't know until I see actual tracking numbers.

That's cool though since none are essential - just music CD's.

I’ve noticed that some promotional items are okay for next day Prime delivery but all the rest are late April. In spite of Amazons current offer to use warehouse and delivery vans for priority medical gear it would have been a nice gesture to offer its Prime customers something in return. I didn’t ask Amazon to use my subscription for this (but I do volunteer in other ways for the Covid-19 pandemic.)

As a Prime customer who understands the current situation I don't mind them prioritizing for medical gear. If it takes delaying non-essential items to get people the medical gear they badly need I'm all for it.

That said, life goes on so non-essential orders are still going to be placed; it's just that we Prime members now need to realize 2-Day delivery is going to suffer. Yes some will get orders quicker than expected while others may take longer than expected. That's the situation we're in now.

Anyway I was just curious if anyone experienced/is experiencing long delays,

Just FYI, got my order today so it came earlier than expected. Perhaps delays "might" not be as bad as stated by Amazon. On the other hand I am a Prime member. However, I know things are fluid so...
