New
#101
I've been too bummed to tell ya about the chickies. A few weeks ago, something got into the pen and got one of my hens. Then, about a week ago, after I'd figured out the gate had just enough space for something to squeeze through and fixed that, I thought things were OK . . . something dug underneath the gate! Daddy Roo gave his life protecting his ladies. So, I used my last bag of concrete to cement in some paving stones.
Once again, I'm sure nothing can get in. That is, if the predators don't figure out a new way in . . . Rural areas are just not that safe for chickens!
I have two ladies left; one finally ended her molt and started to lay so I'm getting one egg a day. Since I'm stuck at home, that's all I need.
Once we're safe from COVID 19, I'm going to get some new baby chicks and start over.
Good Morning Wynona, David & Josey
