    Thanks, TC:

For the moment, I'm booted into the Fast/Skip partition. And, so far, every time I've shut down and rebooted from F/S, the dual boot screen shows up. Just not in Production. And now, here's the screenshot:

    Attachment 248145

Edit: Yeah, I know I have to change that 30 seconds.
2 things I can think of off the top of my head.

    1) What Keith said, Fast Startup/hibernation/what ever you want to call it, can muck things up. Turn it off if it is on.

    2) Boot from your MR Rescue Thumb and run the Fix Boot Records option. Something may have gotten twirked.

    OK, here's what I didn't get . . . the Fix Boot Records option.

    And what I did get:

Your PC needs to be repaired.
Digital signature for this file could not be verified.
    Wndows\System 32\boot\winload.efi
    Error 0xc0000428

I have to go back and reboot to get the rest of the info. Flying by the seat of my britches right now.

    Back in a couple.

And I'm back and have plugged in most of the info I saw.

I was also told I would need recovery tools.

And, here's my opinion: HP is notorious for locking things down to the point that not much can be changed, so when I shrunk drive C: and added partitions, although it worked for a bit, in the end it wasn't allowed.

My thoughts are that I'd probably be better off wiping the hard drive down to bare metal and starting over.

I'm also giving some thought to getting a 500 GB SSD if and when I decide to "start over". I saw one a day or so ago for around $60.

The Macrium Rescue Media told you that you needed recovery tools?
