OK, here's what I didn't get . . . the Fix Boot Records option.

I have to go back and reboot to get the rest of the info. Flying by the seat of my britches right now.

And I'm back and have plugged in most of the info I saw.
I was also told I would need recovery tools.
And, here's my opinion: HP is notorious for locking things down to the point that not much can be changed, so when I shrunk drive C: and added partitions, although it worked for a bit, in the end it wasn't allowed.
My thoughts are that I'd probably be better off wiping the hard drive down to bare metal and starting over.
I'm also giving some thought to getting a 500 GB SSD if and when I decide to "start over". I saw one a day or so ago for around $60.
