Alternative OS's

Windows 7 is my primary OS; I need it in my business to run my CAD software. Still I have soft spot for Linux. Mint has always been at the top of my list and every so often I'll install it and muck about with it. Pity my software won't run on it though. Tried XP and 7 on it in VBox but that was unsuccessful in all but one... ag shame...

There is another one (Linux OS) that I am very interested in... Fedora. Love the look of it. Only ran it as a live session... tried installing it but got horribly lost.

    Anyone here into/using Fedora?

My alternative OS is windows 8.1 whereas my main OS is OS X 10.9 Maverick's. The Mac OS has been my main OS since April, 1987 when I bought a Mac Plus running OS 6.0.

Played around with Mac very briefly about three years ago. Didn't really catch and I often forget it exists... ops:

Installed Fedora 18 on my spare PC yesterday... mucking about with it. Not bad although I may move to Mint later today.

I played around with Fedora a couple of years ago myself and in my opinion, it is one of the better distros I've tried out. Have fun!

Seems so different to my eyes. Looks great but different. Synaptic seems gone... or I just can't find it :/

The Linux crowd really need to polish their card games though. Yuck.

I use (not very often) both Fedora 18 and Mint (Mate Edition) as alternate OS's and like them both very much.

I find Mint to be much more user friendly out of the box but Fedora is great once you start getting to grips with it.

Played around with Easy Peasy the other day. A lot of fun...
