We have a creek with the same name S of us about 15-20 miles and is appropriately named, according to county historical records. And it is a road leading down alongside the creek from the mountains. I don't recall seeing that road marker but maybe it's relatively new.

That was taken on my road trip in 2016 as I made the drive from the E Coast to WA state to visit my parents. So I probably passed through there on my voyage.
