Well I am closing down for the night/
Finally got a hp elitebook up and running....
The computer had lost its product information (machine number and motherboard number)
And wouldn't boot just gave an Product info invalid error.
macrium rescue disk wouldn't work so I had to build a Winpe usb. I put a program from HP on
which allows writes to bios. Replaced the battery. Got the machine number (behind the main battery)
and the Motherboard number (under the memory) and after 8 tries booted to the usb.
ran the program and imputed the numbers.
After that I rebooted to widows successfully. after several cold boots I downloaded a bios for it. to insure
that there wasn't any other corruption.
Its running a long series of diagnostics right now and should be finished by the time I crawl out
of my coffin
