The person I saw last night had Macrium 5 installed and the last backup was when it was on Win 7.
I could have stayed all night.
I hate needles, love cookies, so as long as they bribe me I'm cool.
Did you explain that the program only does some good if you actually use it?
I put Malwarebytes on someones PC a couple years back & told them to run regular weekly scans & update the defs. I don't think they were listening because they called about 6 months later saying their PC was messed up. They made a comment about how MBAM didn't help. I asked them when the last time was they did a scan. There was a silence on the phone....
"Oh, you mean I have to run it by myself, it's not automatic?"
I pretty sure I explained to them that the free version needed to be run manually. I asked if when I put it in if they wanted to pay for it & they told me not if a free version is available.
After fixing it back up I put the icon on the desktop labeled in all caps "RUN ME ONCE A WEEK!!!!"
Fortunately my Wife's uncle picked up pretty quick. I told him about MBAM paid, he bought that. He also bought Norton when I told him MBAM plays nice with most other AV's. I wrote down the info for an external HDD that he could get at Staples & gave him the links to instructions on doing a system image & so far he's only had some minor issues.
Well folks, I'm heading out to do some shopping, had to get the blood work done & then I came home to grab some coffee. This was another one of those @#$%^&*( fasting tests, no food or coffee with creamer allowed.
Speaking of, I might as well do a back up while I'm out & running about.
You all take care & have a good safe day.
Well I gave this person points, they had an external storage device and had Macrium.
Most have nothing and honestly don't want to know about another task technology forces them into doing.
Next time I'm there I'll relabel short cut like you did Borg.
Have a good one Borg.
Morning Mike.
