Yep, we get the flood warnings here too. Fortunately we're up on the hill & as one person said it in the past: "If your place starts getting flooded we're all in trouble."

My Lucy cat is exactly the opposite. She sleeps inside at night but as soon as I've given her breakfast and treats, she's out the back door and doesn't reappear except for a snack of Meow Mix a few times during the day.

When I go out to the chicken pen to gather eggs, she's always around to escort me and help with the count.

We got her when she was a tiny kitten and I think she was a "barn cat"; will never know, since someone dropped her off at the church my daughter and family attend. She rode home with my grandson on top of his car battery.

We get a lot of flash flood watches too; maybe the squirrels are the cause?
