I have no idea why? But Idle is now missing from Buster. It may be there if you use the "with recomended software" image, I just used the "with Desktop" image.
The Pi foundation is backing Thorny and want you to use that as your Python editior. I just did a sudo apt-get install idle and idle 3 is now installed.

EDIT: sudo apt-get install xsceensaver still works, for those that don't like their screen blanking out all the time.

Word is the A2 cards require special hardware to get their full speed. Which the Pi 4 doesn't have. Bench marks show the A1's are faster than the A2's in a Pi 4. From what I see posted on the Pi forum.

Usually I right click, open with, select program, Idle, always use this etc. Idle was MIA from the programming menu?

Neck and shoulders have been really sore the last couple of days so I've just been tinkering a bit with my new Pi 4B. Haven't really accomplished much though. Other distractions getting in the way too. Thats the way it goes some times.

The 4 gig were and maybe are still hard to get your hands on. The Pi foundation had assumed the 2 gig would be the big seller. IMHO its a no brainer to spend a little more and get the 4gig.

Mine took about 2 weeks to arrive. Royal; Mail Tracked and signed. I got the Pibow Coupe black, big heatsink, and some other odds and ends to male it usable when it arrived. The USC c power supplies were out of stock so I got the Micro USB to USB C adapter. I haven't had any problems running off of the old 5 2.5A official supply. I haven't done anything intensive with it yet though.
