I thought you had a piano hat but wasn't 100% sure. Just fired up my laptop out on my deck. Nice cool breeze out here. Hot and humid in the house though. Not going to do any Pi stuff tonight, other than forums stuff. Going to have a look around here first though, see what's up lately with Windows 10.

Thats just Adafruit. They want everybody using their micro python / circuit python. You can still use the Arduino IDE to program your Arduino. Its what I'm using. Your coding in C though, not python.

yeah , it was my attempt at a bit of sarcasm towards Adafruit .

They have some very nice hardware. Getting it to work though can be a PITA. Especially on a Raspberry Pi. They are more micro controller orientated. The raspberry Pi seems to be a side line to them. And porting their stuff for raspberry seems to be a "when we get around to it", maybe, possibly? And even then its a tedious process to get it all working.
Pimoroni are Raspberry Pi first and foremost, Arduino etc is a side line of other things to sell. They are pretty well the opposite of Adafruit. Nice one line installers for the Pi stuff, that usually just works. And basic info for the Arduino stuff. Its why I go there now for my Pi info and how to's. My only complaint with Pimoroni is they can be a little slow sometimes getting info up on new products. The pinouts and function lists etc. Not a big deal but frustrating some times when you want to go beyond the examples and do something fancy.

Just a heads up post, do not update the firmware on your Pi 4, if you have one that is. There is an EEPROM on the PI 4 with changeable / upgradable firmware on it. I'm not exactly sure what's on it other than "some" boot code. The stuff that used to burned into the SOC silicon never to be changed again. Anyway, you "may" be able to actually brick your Pi now? I say "may" because I'm seeing conflicting statements? Some say its recoverable and some saying it doesn't recover after a bad flash? I'd link to some of the posts but there isn't anything official in them. Not yet anyway. Mostly, my Pi4 won't boot up anymore stuff after doing a firmware update. Sudo apt-get update upgrade should be fine. The actual board firmware update is a separate process from that.

Its a bit confusing. Its now hard to tell if they updated the SD Card Firmware or the EEPROM, or both when they say "I did a firmware update".
