New plan, I just stopped and then disabled the service that starts stops the fan. It now just runs constantly when the Pi boots up. I figured why not just run it like the CPU fan in a PC. It should give me a more constant lower temperature. No swings up and down, up and down. We'll see. This appears to turn off the LED. Not a big deal as I have the Blinkt showing the CPU temps.
EDIT:
Its at ~30c on boot up now. It was ~60c idling with just the heat sink.
Then goes up to 40 45 or so with use. I saw a 42c last night while playing around on it. I've seen it hit 80c a couple of times with just the heat sink.
Still debating whether to remove the heatsink to see if I runs cooler or hotter without it. I have extra thermal pad stuff to put it back on again.
