The tricky part with setting up the motion, especially on a windy day like today, was just my bird feeder moving set it off. Even if there were no birds there. It doesn't discriminate between what is moving. A bush, a tree, etc. Get enough movement and it activates. Inside likely isn't that hard to setup. If all you want is your cat or dog to activate it, or not activate it. lol

The one thing I really wish he would add is a one button record video option. Like the one click take a still button. Click the button, start a recording, click it again to stop and save it.

Hey Jack, @caperjack I'd be interested in any feed back you can give on the NOIR Camera.
What the picture is like in normal daylight conditions. From what I'm reading its a bit washed out color wise, kind of black and whitish.
And what kind of night vision you get without adding any IR LEDs for illumination.
Half thinking of buying a NIOR camera myself, if its not bad in dim light. A semi lit area not complete darkness etc. Like say your backyard with your porch light on etc. Or light from a street light.
No big rush, just if you can, make some notes as you play with it.

Ok, wasn't expecting that, should be an easy swap for the one I want to test it in. I have some V1 cameras you can have free for your trouble. One is used but good, had it for a while, now its just sitting there gathering dust. The other one is the one I fixed with the lens bit you gave me. My lens / sensor part died and your board section was dead. It was working last time I had it connected. Its just sitting in an antistatic bag gathering dust now too. Both are yours if you want them.
I now have 4 of the regular V2's and that mini spy came.

I'll do the usual and put them in an anti static bag by the front door. And let my wife know you may drop by, just in case I'm not home at the time.
A couple of days should be all I need to do my tests and you can have the NOIR back. Thanks for the loan.

Jack this is what I saw with the nigh Vision at 6:15 AM this morning through my living room window. The Sun shines on that window in the morning. I'll take another one when the Sun is over the back of the house and one when its dark out. Kind of what I was expecting, looks like the color is turned down and contrast tuned up.

Its a screen capture with the snipping tool. It shouldn't be any different than taking a still with the actual camera. Just a lot easier to with the snipping tool.
I'll take some more pictures with a regular camera to morrow for comparison.

The camera module in the bag I gave you with the red sharpie ink on the connector is the one made from parts of two cameras. The other one is an original version 1. I had that one for a long time, not used all that much though.
