I'll have a good look at that latter, don't have time right now. USB boot is not enabled on the Pi 4 yet, last time I checked anyway. They (The PI Foundation) say they have thier reasons but don't really elaborate on why. The Pi 4 is the first Pi to have reprogramable / updatable fireware on the Pi. In the past all that was on the Pi was a hard coded first stage boot loader. This also means, this "may" be the first Pi you can actually brick if you skrew things up. I say may because I'm still trying to sort out how that works. It likely is recoverable if you screw up by reflashing the EEPROM with a known working firmware. Like you do to an Arduino when you get it wrong. You just plug the Pi 4 into a PC usb to USB C on the Pi. It will show up as a connected device etc. Anyway, I have to go so I'll have a good look see in an hour os so. Thanks for the link, it will be interesting to see how they did what they did.

Ok, I see what he did now. The picture makes it look like its using USB but the USB connector on the Pi has been rerouted to the PCIe bus. Interesting but not something I'll ever tackel. Not with the tools I have here at home. To me the ends do not justify the means. I applaud him for trying it though, lots of things to go wrong in the process.

My Pi 4B just arrived. Heads up, when you run sudo apt-get update you'll get an error message saying its buster InRelease' changed its 'Suite' value from 'testing' to 'stable' and This must be accepted explicitly before updates for this repository can be applied. See apt-secure(8) manpage for details. You don't get any option to accept though?
It appears if you run apt get instead of apt-get, you get the yes no option and can continue. You only need to run apt get once, then go back to apt-get..

    I really hope the do a 4A+.

41c now after cooling down while I put my pibow coupe case on, no heatsink.
48c after just sitting idle for 5 or 10 while made this post. I think I'll just let it sit for a while to see how high it gets, another 30 minutes of so. Then put my heatsink on.

EDIT: It went up 56c. just sitting idle with the desktop open.

No problems running from the older official micro USB supply and USB C adapter. No lightning bolts on screen etc.

51c now with the heatsink on. Will try the fan shim when I get one.

I'm liking this, web browsing is nice and fast. Pages are loading quick.

58c after doing some web browsing. Heatsink is hot to the touch, not hot enough to burn you though.

If I could run Stretch on the Pi 4 I would. The Pi foundation is still cleaning up issues with Buster. Buster wasn't officially released by Debian when the Pi foundation released the Raspbian version. Waiting would have meant delaying the Pi 4 release. Thats why I got the update error I posted above. It was released as "testing". I'd debate the now "stable" bit though. Judging by issues posted on the Pi forums.
