It's a holiday over here too. Once upon a time it was the Whitsun holiday but they got fed up of it moving around each year so now we have a holiday on the last Monday in May.

Very similar to the U.S. Federal Monday Holiday law. Very convenient for moving Presidents' birthdays around, celebrating new holidays, just because somebody said "me, too!", and, of course, it gives the Fed. workers another day off with pay. Does have one benefit.... less days the postal system can lose the mail.

Just about the only thing our postal system is used for these days is junk mail.

Yeah I don't answer my phone anymore. I let it go to voicemail first. That's even with me registered with the Telephone Preference Service.
