    Its on there, but I've never done that before, that I remember...works fine on this rig...

    Open Windows Security Center>Virus and Threat Protection, and see what it says. I have Defender and MBAM running in unison and have this, and the taskbar icon. If yours says MBAM is in control, that's why. Set MBAM to never register.

    Just removed Nortons from 2nd PC and turned on Defender ....but the Windows Security Icon is not showing in the task bar, what did I do wrong...
    Maybe they have some uninstall tool? Or Revo it

    Ok this screenshot is from this pc .....and it shows MB in control, and I don't have MB unregistered, but my defender icon shows on taskbar ...

    Ok, now the icon is back. Took a while, I guess. or just going into the settings tickled it alive. If it works as advertised (does here), if you disable MBAM, Windows will start yelling at you and turn on Defender.
