Morning Borg
Morning Ken.
We're heading out. I told her we should make a stop at the student book store also. She asked why. I said because all the used books disappear during the summer break & a used book can make a difference of up to $200 compared to a new one.
She doesn't know yet, but the books for the classes amount to lots of $$$$$. I had to get a new one for one of my classes & it was $575. For a lit class. It was thick too. My Wife said "That's not a book, that's a booster seat."
And then you have this event where they move to a newer version of the book & instantly all the old books become useless. And you end up paying full price for them. Nothing is as jaw dropping as walking up to the counter with 5 books & the total is over $1000. Poor kid is going to be in for sticker shock.
You all take care & have a good safe day.
Hopefully we have luck & find some used ones for cheap. (Or as cheap as they get, a used one, depending on the class, can still easily run $250+)
Good morning, Mike & Sammy.
Good afternoon, Keith.
Good morning, Thomas; I see you're already awake and lurking.
Good afternoon, Andre. Nothing hot here today. Wet and dreary.
Good morning, Beeman, Buzzy, Eddy, and Tommy.
Good morning, Bat. Lotsa water; it's wet here today, and the Arkansas River is overfull already. No flooding here, but it could happen soon.
Good morning, DM.
Good morning, Bob.
Good morning, Ken. Lotta new opportunities to examine! Good luck.
Good morning, Borg. For the life of me, I do not understand why college books are so expensive. Gouging in my opinion.
At least the young lady has you to help her save all she can.
But it seems he's gone now.
