Morning Ken.

We're heading out. I told her we should make a stop at the student book store also. She asked why. I said because all the used books disappear during the summer break & a used book can make a difference of up to $200 compared to a new one.

She doesn't know yet, but the books for the classes amount to lots of $$$$$. I had to get a new one for one of my classes & it was $575. For a lit class. It was thick too. My Wife said "That's not a book, that's a booster seat."

And then you have this event where they move to a newer version of the book & instantly all the old books become useless. And you end up paying full price for them. Nothing is as jaw dropping as walking up to the counter with 5 books & the total is over $1000. Poor kid is going to be in for sticker shock.

Hopefully we have luck & find some used ones for cheap. (Or as cheap as they get, a used one, depending on the class, can still easily run $250+)

Hot & muggy this morn. Going to be the 3 H's today....just like yesterday.

I get to play taxi this morn, her friends daughter needs to run a couple places to looks at some stuff for the upcoming college courses she's starting in fall. I volunteered since she wanted my advice on what to get for school. We'll probably swing by the campus & I'll show her where everything is.

Also, I want to introduce her to some of the tech teachers, they can get her discounts on software & a lappy.

We got to my Wife's doc appt yesterday & there was some guy outside the building yelling for heaven-know-what reason, the cops showed up a couple minutes later. They ended up taking him away.

That is a huge amount of rain beeman and bat. Hopefully this doesn't force their hand on opening spillway.

Show was good yesterday. Was on my feet for six hours and talked myself horse. Very large crowd and lots of noise to overcome.

Was ask by a new retirement home if I would be interested in doing classes when they open and the DownSizing Divas asked if I would be interested in helping their clients move. Things I hadn't considered but possible opportunities, especially downsizing companies, there are a bunch here and they must all face the same issue with moving customer tech. The Town library also asked if I would do talks.

Good morning, Borg. For the life of me, I do not understand why college books are so expensive. Gouging in my opinion.

At least the young lady has you to help her save all she can.
