It's been freakin crazy all over this year & it seems every year it's getting a bit weirder.
The wind blew another shingle off the roof somewhere. We just found someone a while back that would actually go up on our steep roof o' death & it looks like we might be calling him again.
I told my Wife we should maybe get a metal roof, but she said with as high as we sit & the strong winds we get sometimes, that may not be a good idea. She said imagine the wind hitting & taking not just a tile or 2 off, but a whole section. I can see it happening.
Right now we have 28 MPH winds with gusts to 40 MPH
Afternoon Andre. Yes snow.
Morning beeman
Very much doubt wind will pull metal roof off. Each style of shingle / roofing has a wind rating . Bet the metal roof rating will have the highest tolerance.
Not sure about those, haven't researched them too much. I think they last a long time but still need occasional painting/maintenance.
But we do sit up on top of a steep hill so we get quite the wind blows up here. I would think they have them nailed down pretty good. But as with anything, as time goes by nails work themselves loose.
On thing the roofing guy did have to say about those, the nails, because they have a gasket around them, work themselves up after a year or 2 due to expansion/contraction due to weather & then there's the possibility of a leak around the edges or wherever the nails came up a bit.
I know wind on the top of hill. We too are up on the edge of a ridge. The wind howls up here.
