To paraphrase Shakespeare, he "struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more. It is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury
    Signifying nothing."

I'm not expecting much.. according to the benchmark websites the new one is going to be about 250% better. Right now I have a duo core and I'm going to a quad core so it should do more work at least. And the frequency in turbo mode is going from 3.2GHz to 4.4Ghz.. so I think it's going to be faster... but I'll find out when I get and install it on the 4th of May!!

I've had quad core cpu's in both of my last builds and they are definitely an improvement in performance. That along with having 8 GB's of DDR3 RAM. But running the OS on an SSD has by far been the biggest improvement I've ever made and I could never go back to a spinner, except for storage purposes.

Good to hear. I have an SSD(Crucial) and Corsair 8GB DDR3 RAM. I just want to get a quad core processor and finish this PC.

That sounds like a good system! You should be set for quite a few years at least. My goal when building a new PC is to get 5 years out of it, before upgrading everything. I enjoy building my own PC's, but I'm also kind of a cheapskate and like to get as much bang for my buck as possible.
