I am finally aware of how sadistic they are. For no good reason I was chosen for the water torture. This time however it included a burning foamy concoction called "shampoo." What sick minds could invent such a liquid? My only consolation is the piece of thumb still stuck between my teeth.

Today, back in my native Finland starts one of the most bizarre trials I can remember, a 35 year old woman had 5 babies during the past 10 years, killed all of them minutes after giving birth and put the baby bodies in a freezer.

A sad and unbelievable story, but that's not why I'm posting. No, I want to post about how sad I am again today seeing how media handles these cases and especially how inhumane and grotesque it is to see the video ads when reading daily papers online about this case, or any similar tragedy.

    A screenshot from just now:

I've highlighted the title, in English "Oulu baby deaths: mother accused of the murder of her five children came to trial". Below it a happy and joyful Christmas shopping video ad, below it finally the story. Am I the only one thinking this is not right, ads like this should not be shown together with news like this? No respect here.

You geeks do not understand Finnish but check it by yourself, you can at least understand the visual and emotional aspect I'm talking about: Oulun vauvakuolemat: Viiden lapsensa murhista syytetty äiti astui oikeuden eteen - Kotimaan uutiset - Ilta-Sanomat

I understand online advertising, I understand the sites need their income, especially today when the paper copies do not sell as before. But isn't there any way to show at least some respect?

I agree Kari. It is wrong, but sadly the newspaper must have ads in order to stay in business.

He's not complaining about the ads, Chuck. It's the way they're presenting them and with too many ads, especially the video ones. Sometimes I just turn on read mode in Modern IE.

Kari, some sites have class > Some don't.
