Language in South Americas?

    Language in South Americas?


    From what I've searched on Google there are two major languages used in South Americas - For example, Spanish used in Chile, Peru and Argentina while Portuguese used in Brazil and some of its neighboring countries.

    I'd like to know if those countries have their unique languages? I don't mean the same language with different accents. For example, does Chile or Peru have their own unique language that it's almost impossible for anyone else who knows big language like Portuguese or Spanish to understand them?

    Various indigenous languages are still spoken in South America but unfortunately in many cases they are dying out due to dwindling populations and lack of use.
