    Got a SATA/PCIe RAID driver update from Intel for the storage controller. That's second only to a firmware BIOS upgrade to give you heartburn. Botched update, no boot. No backup and bootable media....no machine. I'm still here, so it went in fine.

    Yep that is as bad as a ssd firm ware update with no backup.
