I have SATA ports on the front of my case, which I never have used. I unplugged them to add another cable long time ago. Well, I never got in the front of the case to remove the cable. When I plugged up that SSD earlier, I just found the first SATA cable not attached to anything and plugged it in the SATA.

After removing the video card to install a new cable, I noticed the the SSD was on the SATA cable that ran to the front ports!!!!

Well I am a good guy..... He didn't format the drive before handing it over. I had all of his pictures, files, etc on the drive. I just right clicked and formatted it w/o peeking at any of it.

Good Morning Ken, I just updated my system specs. I used the backup program to move my settings to the new drive took 2 hours to create the file to the NAS but only one hour to restore it from the NAS file was 80 GB in size.

I used to repair TV's for a living Yep the first thing to check is to see if the thing was plugged in and yep there was a few that were not.
