Last week we were talking about how long to load a new build and I said my old laptop was slow. Andre announced the new build last night so I timed it. Started download at 6:00 and was ready to do restart at 8:30, I didn't even time the next bit.

Two and a half hours on wired connection ( pay for 150 Mbps )

Problem is Ken that most of the time in an upgrade is spent by Windows rearranging the furniture rather than downloading.

Yep, just checked & the security-only update, KB4480960 is no longer on the list of updates.

My cable slows down too in the evening but usually stays over 150. It goes considerable over 200 late at night. Interesting that they don't cap modem.

When I walk out my door I can see the box up the street where the fiber terminates. DSL is not an option, only gets 5Mbps.

Bell (telephone company) was working on fiber to the neighbourhood but took all their trucks and headed to the city three years ago. They are doing fiber to your residence, every house, apartment and condo, in the city and Toronto is a big city.
