That is what I was thinking. There was not that much of a difference in a couple of my "upgrades". Even when I went from pre i7 to this i7, the real speed increase was more on the ssd than the cpu. Benchmarks ofc were greatly better on here as well too. It just seems as if we might have hit a wall in speed increases these days, unless your benching of course.

I mean I could do more cpu intensive things with less load than the older cpu, but other than throwing the kitchen sink at it, the speed of programs and things were not nearly what I thought it would be.

If you can see these cpu tests I did using Cinebench There is a big difference in speed
This CPU got up to a score of 2163 @ 5.0
My 8700k @5.3 got a high score of 1788
Actually I think my 8700k was @5.4 for that score of 1788

Yep I can see it. I am willing to bet that opening of your most used programs, you don't see this speed increase though. It is probably just fast as lightning, but the 8700 was also.....

Well this 9900k has 8 cores vs 6
and 16 threads vs 12 ... MORE is Always better....and faster.
