I woke up at 5:30 and it was 29° outside; at 8:00, it was 28° and frosty as heck! At almost 9:00, it's 32°, sunshiny and still frosty as heck. Leaves tipped with frost are kinda pretty, but not enough to go out there yet!

I canned 9 pints and 6 half pints of carrots yesterday; all are on the shelves ready for chowing down. Johnny really did like carrots; he said his mom told him they'd make his eyes pretty. He did have the prettiest eyes. And now I'm getting weepy . . .
