    Happy Thanksgiving to all.

I'm getting ready to go up the hill to gramma . . . errr, ummm, Cyndi's house for a Turkey dinner. First, though, gotta help her get things done. I'll be making the fruit salad, which is my specialty.

Hope everyone gets stuffed, but not baked . . . or even half baked. See ya on the flip side.
Morning Wynona, Gracie, and Lucy. Enjoy your turkey.

Upgraded wife's laptop to SSD. It has been said a million times, what a difference.

So new SSD and double the RAM. That should do for a while.... I hope.

I could not believe the improvement the first time I moved to SSD from a spinner. It was like going from the flintstones to the jetsons

It sure is. That is the first thing I recommend to my customers when they want a new machine. I have two old laptops, built for Vista, and they snap to instantly. Wouldn't want to be encoding video on them but opening a browser and reading some mail they will do just fine.

After getting 5 years and I forget how many TB of writes on the older one. The newer ones should be fine for anything. I mean by the time it will wear out you would be looking for a new one anyway.

That is, unless you are putting the SSD in for someone that will never upgrade or anything. At the prices they are at these days, I would be getting a massive one for my backups if I could afford it lol.
