Why are some MKV files bigger than others?

    Why are some movie files bigger than others?


    Some of my movies only takes up a few gb and has really good picture quality, while some of my movies takes up a lot of gb and has worse quality. Why is that? I'm using the mkv movie format right now.

    Solved, i went with mp4 instead, as it supports album art for movies. ✔

    MKV is just a container, it depends, what codec was used, also resolution, bitrate and audio quality, etc.

    Alright, thanks for clarifying. Anyway, i have decided to go with mp4, as it seems like mkv does not support album art, but mp4 does.
