33% of what you would charge for 1 hour. But a 1 hour minimum would be better. The company I last worked for charged $400.00 just for me to walk in the door if they did not have a maintenance contract.

I agree with you all on charging one hour, $50, but then I get these looks. I also know the next time they need a little help they avoid it because of the costs and don't call until it's a real mess.

You can go soft on regular customers, if they are close. If somebody calls you once in a year, charge him / her...

Thing is they are all regulars living on a fixed pension. With some I started running a tab so they can see all the trips and things I do, actually document it on an invoice.

This makes it easy on me when they see value.
