Problem is, Beeman, the way they built these, we're both in the roundabout; I'm on one side of it and the oncoming car is on the other side. So, he wants proceed on around to go left and I have to yield, although I'm going right. Heretofore, the car going right has always had the right of way; now it's just confusing as all getout!

I just now understand what you are saying the car in the circle has the right of way even though he is making a U turn you do not know where he is going to turn right. You enter on the right and exit on the right you can't exit on the left as you would cross the medium here.

There is a really confusing one near us. It is a large roundabout with six small roundabouts on it. You can go either way round the large roundabout. It's been nicknamed the magic roundabout.

I need to go look at it to explain further, Beeman. I can see it in my mind's eye, but can't put it on paper.

I'm coming down the straight road, about to enter the roundabout to my right, when someone comes all the way around from the other side (the inside lane goes on around and the outside lane goes to what would have been a left turn for him if the road were still straight). I can't tell which lane he's in, so can't tell whether he's going on around or whether he's going to go onto the cross road; if he's going on around, I'm safe, but if he's going onto the cross road, If I get in front of him, he'll plow into me.

We have about six roundabouts on this one (maybe) two mile stretch of road. It's almost like we have a roundabout every city block, although they are just a tad bit further apart than that! Note to self . . . measure the distance.

What used to take a couple minutes from the beginning of the road to the freeway now takes at least ten minutes. And when an 18-wheeler with a new driver gets on, Katy Bar the Door! I got behind one awhile back and it took at least 20 minutes to get to the freeway. Poor guy even had to back up once! Hopefully, they'll ban 18-wheelers from this road!
