I don't think Gracie wants to hurt my chickens, but if she happens to escape the yard and sees one loose, she doesn't make a sound . . . just makes a beeline for 'em. After all, she's part terrier and anything that moves must be chased! They manage to stay out of her clutches and when I yell, she actually stops. On the other paw, Lucy accompanies me every time I go to the chicken yard and supervises. She never offers to go inside the pen if I leave the gate ajar.
Well Sammy is a 65lb Pure Bred Doberman, with very sharp teeth. I am not sure what Sammy would do. She could treat them as a playmate ....or ....supper....I have no idea ....yet. Sammy can be very protective of her yard also.

There would be lots of chicken bits.

I think you have that invisible fence product, does that stop her.

I found two dogs on the street looking tired and thirsty. I decided they were lost and convinced them to come into garage where I gave them water. Called the owner and she said when ever they see rabbits they go right through the fence. I suggested she rethink her approach. We have lots of coyotes and they travel in packs. These guys had come over two miles.

Evening Ken, yes my invisible fence does keep Sammy in my yard. But these chickens come across the road INTO my yard. So far when Sammy is out, they don't walk across the road. Will be interesting to see what happens I guess.
