I have been through several hurricanes as I have lived here for over 70 years. I can still remember one that came through where my grand parents lived on Trinity Bay the water was 30 feet below the bank made of dirt after the storm they were 150 yards closer to the shore and several houses that were less than 150 yards to the coast were now in the bay.

I an afraid that is the price of living that close to the coast on the Gulf coast. Storm surges from storms of that size go over 12 feet no house can survive unless on pilings higher than that and then you will still have wind damage.
Yeah, most people talk about Katrina but no one ever mentions Rita. When the 25-30 wall of water hit Holly beach the only things left standing were the water tower and a statue that was in front of the Church.

I just cranked it up. Didn't get that, but..... it ran unusually quick! Maybe this from the change log?

When I lived across the road I told everyone I had a 50/50 connection....50% of the time it worked, 50% it didn't. I was paying $61.00 a Month for UVerse 12.0 and that's no longer available so I got AT&T 10.1 for $30.00 a Month.. IT"S THE SAME DARN CONNECTION !!!

Do I ever wish LUS could run their Fiber out here
I do to then I would not need a satellite for TV when it rains I loose TV but just outside of Carencro I will long be dead before I see Fiber.

Always a little leery of things like that. Makes ya wonder if it's doing anything at all!

I spent a whole year refactoring and optimising code in our order to payment system because the cheapskates wouldn't upgrade our mainframe.

When I went down there to see if we could put bees back where we had them that was a no go you could see grass piled on the power lines from the high water. Moved the bees before the storm but it even washed the concrete blocks away that were left there.
