Joan, I know how sad this time is for you, having lost my husband in a somewhat similar manner almost two years ago.

My thoughts and prayers go with you. It will be awhile, but you will heal. I hope your family is close by to help you in this terrible time.

Thank you everyone, it's much appreciated, my youngest daughter is the closest but she is in the next town about 5 - 6 miles away and she doesn't drive, plus she has 3 young children to look after but she's on the phone every day, its ok though as I prefer being on my own as I can't cope trying to prop her up in her grief while trying to deal with mine we are too much alight in our feelings.

My youngest son lives in Aberdeenshire in Scotland and my eldest son and daughter are in England and about 400 miles away. We're in lockdown anyway here in Wales and it wasn't Johns wishes to have mourners just a straight cremation with no fuss.
