There is a proposition on the ballot for the 11/6 elections here in CA to start the process to not do DST any more. It would then need to pass the senate and eventually the President. I don't see it going anywhere. A Guy

Why the President? Wouldn't that be up to the state of California? Not all areas in the U.S.observe DST.

In order for a state to switch to year-round Daylight Savings Time, Congress and the President must approve the proposal. A Guy

The trouble is, with no DST, on June 21, the sun will rise at 4:15am and set at 7:30pm.

And if you make DST year round, on December 21, the sun will rise at 6:16am, and set at 3:22pm.

    (those are central time)

The state legislators of Arizona opted out in 1968.
