Revealing how old, sentimental idiot I am.
I am wathing today's episode of Dancing on Ice, a UK TV show from channel ITV. As Finnish television shows the contest with one week delay, and German TV does not show it at all, I'll use a VPN connection to watch it on British TV.
It is a show where some B-class celebrities learn to skate and are ice-dancing with skating pros. Read more: Dancing on Ice - Wikipedia. One "celeb" - pro pair is eliminated each week, until we have a winner
I got interested in the show when I read that there are two of my fellow Finns participating this year. There's the singer Saara Aalto as a "celebrity", a semi-popular Finnish singer in UK, and a pro skater Alexandra Schauman as partner for a British "celebrity" James Jordan.
You need to understand that this kind of shows only attract those B-class (or C-class?) celebs.
Either I am too sentimental, or I am too old, or both, or I have somehow got female hormons in me, but tonight's episode was the third one in a row I cried when watching it. Beautiful, moving, especially thinking what tose "celebs" without any skating background have had to do to learn ice-dance with a partner.
Luckily, both my Finns are in final 5 pairs. Can't wait next episode on British ITV next Sunday

Yes I do, I'm used to James as I used to watch him when he was on Strictly but of course that's an entirely different kind of dancing. Seeing him now and watching how well he's doing after coming into the show never having ice skated before is fantastic. Saara Aalto is doing well, there's a decent lot taking part this year.
