Geeks, as you know we have had quite a number with issues with TF Live sessions. The thing is, Skype for Business will retire in near future, Microsoft already having moved to Teams which already contains most of the SfB features. It will not be very plausible Microsoft would still fix SfB connection and other issues.

I have a few ideas, and will test them before asking your opinion about new TF Live platform. Please subscribe to this thread. I was thinking to finish my tests today, but I have a bad day health wise and cannot concentrate on that now.

I am sorry you could not join. Anyway, you did not lose much, we had to cancel the session due technical issues.

Thanks - I thought I would be connected to the off-topic chat instead, but it was not to be.

OK geeks, I am looking for volunteers to test new TF Live Webcast platform today with me in an off topic, informal chat.

I have done some quite extensive testing with alternatives to Skype for Business online meetings, the platform all TF Live chats have used. It simply has too many issues, a good example being this cancelled tutorial session due screen sharing not working.

@Martin suggested TeamViewer meetings. The problem is, it is free only for private use. I do not want to cause any problems for Ten Forums, if we used TeamViewer it could be seen as business use because through these live chats, we promote our forums. It's better to forget it. In addition, in my tests it came quite clear that it is an excellent tool to remotely assist another user, but not good for chat and online meetings.

Slack was one alternative I tested, but because its free version only allows one to one calls, it's not good for us. We need a platform which allows all of us to join with video and audio. The same issue makes most of the alternatives unusable for us.

There's basically only one reasonable option, however it would change our "Come and join us anonymously" principle. My choice for new TF Live Webcast platform is Microsoft Teams Free. I will write a tutorial for it later today, posting link here in this thread when done.

I know that @Edwin has tested Teams Free, and judging by his enthusiastic messages really likes it . I hope you can join the test today, Edwin.

Teams requires a Microsoft account. If you want to see how it works and take part in today's test, please PM your MS account email to me to get invitation. The live test webcast will start tonight at 19:00 (7 PM) UTC time, see what that is in your local time zone here: Event Time Announcer - TF Live Chat - Testing Microsoft Teams Free

The above link will show the event start in UTC time at left, and in your local time at right:

Hopefully at least a few of you are interested enough to chat today!

If you do not want to share your MS account email address, create a new one to be used just with Teams: Microsoft account

    Geeks, a 24 hour delay.

I have issues on both of my laptops I can use for these meetings, causing Skippy build released yesterday to GSOD continuously.

I need to resolve these issues first. The test meeting will be at announced time (19:00 UTC) tomorrow instead of today.

    Sorry geeks.

Hi Kari. Looks like Murphy has taken up permanent residence in your apartment!

I've noticed that lots of us who have problems with Skip Ahead Build 18234 have rolled back to Build 18219. I'm wondering if I should also do that; so far, I haven't because my problems are Macrium Reflect backup and Task Manager resizing.
