I've got an M705 and replaced the alkaline batteries with eneloop type rechargeables and they last forever.

Well this Li-Pol battery 500 mHa, 3.7 V re-changeable battery sucks TC, does not hold a full charge more than 24hrs !!! I ordered a different one yesterday to try out, if this new battery don't work any better, than Logitech is right, you can't really replace it, because they won't sell you the correct battery. (It Can be replaced, if you could get the right one) Just thought I'd let you know.
Should get this 2nd battery in a week or so....

Your problem could also be that the mouse has a problem drawing too much power and draining the battery.

It's the 450mHa battery, cause I couldn't find a 500. BUT ....I found one in China, so that is the one I ordered. Will take a while to get here. If this one don't work any better, I'll have to buy a new mouse, or just leave this plugged in all the time.
